Dakota Fanning Defends “Hounddog” Rape Scene
Child star Dakota Fanning has defended her rape scene in the upcoming motion picture Hounddog.
The 14-year-old actress has responded to petitions to investigate her on child pornography charges because she allowed Dakota, then 12, to appear in the controversial scene without having a body double.
“It’s a movie and it’s called acting. What drew me to the film was that my character shows people that you can overcome adversity in life and it doesn’t define you,” Dakota says defiantly. “My character has so many other interests and talents that just because something terrible happened to her doesn’t mean she can’t have a great life.”
Hounddog features Dakota as a troubled preteen girl from the American South who finds an outlet for depression in music. The movie first made headlines when it premiered at 2007 Sundance Film Festival.
“I wanted to do the film because I thought it might help one person that has happened to and help them overcome adversity in their lives.”

good for dakota fanning she did right hitting defending the movie the rumors surrounding the rape scene were ridiculous and disgusting you only see a close up of Dakota’s face no actual rape was apparent i own and run a myspace fansite i have been a fan of dakota since i am sam was released dakota is a beautiful talented actress she does not deserve all these horrid unpleasant disgusting rumors that are going round about her i am also talking about her upcoming movie The Runaways rumors are implying that she and Kristen Stewart are having a hot steamy explicit lesbian sex scene in this movie it isn’t true it is however true about a lesbian kiss but its not heavy enough to raise concerns Dakota is growing up so will her film roles
