Ozzy Osbourne has been awarded “substantial” damages in his libel claim against a British tabloid.

The Daily Star has been ordered to pay the fifty-nine year old Black Sabbath legend an unspecified dollar amount after the tabloid dubbed him a “freak show” and alleged he threw the Brit Awards into chaos after he suffered a health scare during The Osbourne family’s hosting gig at the event last February.

The Daily Star article, entitled “Ozzy’s Freak Show,” falsely claimed that Ozzy had toppled over twice before the ceremony was about to begin, prompting frightened Brit Awards organizers to hold emergency talks about whether they should send him to hospital.

The damages will be donated to Sharon Osbourne’s charity - the Sharon Osbourne Colon Cancer Program.
