The Cyruses are slapping bandages on their “Achy Breaky Hearts” and foregoing the divorce petition that sent celebrity snitches in Goss Overdrive when it was filed in October.
During a pre-taped appearance on ABC’s The View, airing Friday, Billy Ray Cyrus revealed that he’s called off his divorce from his wife of 17 years, Tish Cyrus, who also happens to be the mother of his five children, including Disney teen star Miley Cyrus. The country singer, who blasted Miley’s fame on TV’s Hannah Montana for “destroying his family” in last month’s edition GQ Magazine now says he’s working on his relationship with Tish and their kids, including the famous pop tart.
Billy Ray and Miley became virtually estranged after a startling video of the singer-actress smoking natural herb salvia out of a bong went viral just a month after he and Tish issued a joint statement announcing the end of their marriage.
“Hannah Montana didn’t ruin my family. Fame did…I’ve dropped the divorce. I want to put my family back together … Things are the best they’ve ever been,” Billy Ray tell Babs Walters and the Gang on Friday’s show. “I feel like I got my Miley back,” he adds. “I feel like we’re the daddy and daughter we were before Hannah Montana.”
The Cyrus patriarch has also softened his stance on the Disney show which launched his family to superstardom.
“I don’t think ‘Hannah Montana’ ruined my family, but to set the record straight, I love ‘Hannah Montana.’ I love Disney. That didn’t tear my family apart. Now fame, fame is a different animal, you’ve got to be careful with that thing,” he told the ladies of The View.
