Cue the Laugh Track: Kanye Thinks He and Kim Are More Influential Than The Obamas
It’s no secret: Kanye West has a very high opinion of himself.
Apparently, the hip-hopster also has an interesting outlook on his relevance — and that of fiancee Kim Kardashian — especially in comparison to the President and First Lady.
During a radio interview with Hollywood’s On Air with Ryan Seacrest, Yeezus delivered yet another gem to the listening public, claiming his future bride has greater national influence than…wait for it… Michelle Obama. In fact, he’s lobbying to get the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star her first Vogue magazine cover (which likely won’t happen until pigs have wings, given Vogue editor Anna Wintour’s alleged contempt for the reality beauty).
“There’s no way Kim Kardashian shouldn’t be on the cover of Vogue. She’s like the most intriguing woman right now. She’s got Barbara Walters calling her like everyday. And collectively, we’re the most influential with clothing. No one is looking at what [Barack Obama] is wearing. Michelle Obama cannot Instagram a [bikini] pic like what my girl Instagrammed the other day.”
Sounds like payback for that time President Obama branded ‘Ye a “jackass,” right at the height of the Taylor Swift/VMAs melodrama.
When Kardashian landed the cover of CR Fashion Book, West saw it as a transcending moment for the burgeoning Kimye brand:
“[Former French Vogue editor] Carine Roitfeld supports my girl. That’s a breakthrough. There’s a wall of classicism that we are breaking through.”
