Courts rule that Beyonce & Jay-Z cannot trademark ‘Blue Ivy’

It’s a win for the common man!

According to a Boston news affiliate, music royalty, Beyoncé and hubby, Jay-Z, filed paperwork to attempt to trademark their daughters name, in hopes of opening a children’s line in her name. According to the Fox News report, the trademark was rejected by a U.S. judge since a party planning firm in Boston, Massachusetts, Blue Ivy Events, have been operating under the name since 2009.

The Boston event planners apparently don’t mind sharing their name with the heir to the Carter throne, their website proudly displays a photo of Jay-Z and Beyoncé with the caption, “Congrats to our soul mate couple with baby Blue Ivy!!!”
