Courtney Love To Auction Kurt Cobain’s Belongings

Courtney Love has stated she has plans to auction off most of the belongings of her late husband, rocker Kurt Cobain.

The forty-two year old told AOL music that she has talked with Christies about an auction, but that there has not been a date announced for the event. Love, who rose to fame as the lead singer for the band Hole and her problems with drugs, married Cobain (the lead singer for the influential Seattle grunge band Nirvana) in 1992. The couple had a daughter, Frances Bean, the same year. Rock fans around the world were shocked when Cobain committed suicide in 1994.

In the interview, Love stated she wanted to hold the auction because her daughter didn’t need items that belong to her dad – like flannel shirts. However, Love said she had no plans to auction a sweater and a guitar that belong to Cobain. She also stated she will keep the lyric sheets for Cobain’s “(Smells Like) Teen Spirit.”
