Courteney Cox “Cougar Town” Too X-Rated, ABC Censors Complain
Courteney Cox better clean up her new act or she’ll find herself in the unemployment line, ABC bosses say. The former Friends star will make her debut on the network’s new dramedy Cougar Town this fall, but the proposed series–about a bunch of middle-aged broads screwing every man under 29 with a penis a pair of trousers– is getting a giant thumbs down from stunned censors and execs.
Execs are already locked in a furious battle with exec producer Cox, warning her that network TV ain’t cable – and she and her Writers Gone Wild can’t push the envelope past “edgy” to “filthy.”
According to a scoop featured in the April 13 issue of The National Enquirer, the show’s script is peppered with X-plicit, raunchy references to kinky sex, the f-word, and sex with boys as young as 15…

Courteney is attractive and I will look forward to watching the show, but the show represents an unfortunate double standard in society. A middle-aged woman having sex with teen-aged boys is seen as a matter of harmless eccentricity. Were a middle-aged man doing the same thing with 15-year old girls, people would be calling for him to have his name on a sex offender registry, to spend most of his life in prison, and to be castrated or publicly whipped.

Disgusting. I thought the previews were funny. Watched the first show and was horrified that she (Courtney) was referencing and simulating oral sex with a man on the patio and her son walks outside. Tried the second airing and after she shewed her boy toy out the door early morning her son came down the steps. Are you kidding me? This should be on XXX channel. i’m starting to despise ABC. I am seeing more and more raunchy shows… Time to turn the channel!
