Country Music Hall of Famer George Jones isn’t fond of how pop-influenced the genre he loves has become in recent years.

The 78-year-old “Choices” crooner has some harsh words for some of country’s modern day big acts, like Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift, who Jones accuses of “stealing our identity.”

“They’re definitely not traditional country music. It’s good to know that we still do traditional country music. Alan Jackson still does it, so does George Strait. We still have it, and there’s quite a few of us that are going to hope that it comes back one of these days,” Jones remarked in an interview with The Associated Press Tuesday.

“go f**k yourself george jones”…he is disrespecting fans who love carrie/taylor not everyone wants traditional “boring” old timer country!!…if traditional comes back to country and thats all thats played then i wont be a fan and so many other people who enjoy contemporary country wont be either!!…carrie and taylor and all the other beautifull “country girls” out there are the ones who are bringing in more fans to this genre…shania, martina, faith hill and leann rimes, i would never know they existed if it werent for carrie because before carrie i thought country was boring and honkey tonk…so thank God for the carrie and taylors of the world because they make this genre 100x’s better then a stupid george jones depressing boring haggard album!! if you dont like it then go jump off a bridge you bitter old timer !!

Carrie Underwood is one of the best country singer. Her music is not pure old classic country, but still country. Today music has gone to the new page, there is always a taste of something different, such as pop or rock, in country, or there is a little country in rock & pop. but Carrie Underwood doesn’t let the extra elements take away that country.

Taylor Swift is a fake country singer is true. She is not that talented. Without all the scandals with Kanye West, Joe Jonas & Taylor Launtner she would not be this recognized. Thou her songs are okay, her vocals are horrible and weak. And of course her music is more pop than country. I just do not like her.
