Late Glee actor Cory Monteith was among the departed stars honored in the “In Memoriam” tribute at Sunday night’s 56th Annual Grammy Awards. The appropriateness of a similar gesture sparked controversy at the Primetime Emmys last fall; this time Gleeks are outraged by the incorrect spelling of Cory’s last name.
During the segment, the name accompanying a photo of Monteith identified the actor as “Cory Montieth,” swapping the “i” and the “e.” Newsman Mike Morrison tweeted a screenshot of the error, quipping:
“Someone’s getting fired.”
Representatives for the Grammys have not responded to the gaffe.
