Comedienne Sunda Croonquist Sued By In-Laws After Cracking Off-Color Jokes (VIDEO)
Talk about feuding with the in-laws! Comedienne Sunda Croonquist is making headlines after her in-laws filed a lawsuit against her for making jokes about them in her 15-year-old R-rated stand-up routine.
The lawsuit was filed by mother-in-law Ruth Zafrin, her daughter, Shelley Edelman, and Shelley’s husband, Neil, and claims Sunda is spreading false, defamatory and racist lies, The Associated Press reports.
Sunda, who is half-black and half-Swedish, includes jokes about the cultural differences between herself and her husband’s Jewish family in her act. Now, her in-laws are suing Sunda, accusing the comic of spreading false, defamatory and racist lies about them in her routine.
“That’s what you do to someone who makes incredibly horrible jokes about you. Someone who’s vicious to you. I don’t consider my act vicious at all,” the sharp-tongued New Yorker tells Entertainment Tonight of her in-laws’ suit.
If you’re dying to see what all the fuss is about, Croonquist performs her controversial act every Saturday night at 8PM at The Laugh Factory in Hollywood, California. For more information on Sunda Croonquist, visit her website @ www.sundalive.com.
