“IDOL: The Musical,” based on the “worship of Clay Aiken,” is coming to the Big Apple.
Producers describe ‘IDOL’ as a “satirical musical comedy that focuses on the outrageous and delusional fan base” of “American Idol.”
The musical is set in Steubenville, Ohio, a small town where a group of eight kids are preparing for their high school graduation. The group gathers in a barn on a daily basis to worship a shrine of “American Idol” Season II runner Clay Aiken.
