Christoper Lane, Australian college baseball player murdered by “bored” Oklahoma teenagers
The town of Duncan, Oklahoma has been overwhelmed with grief, as Australian-born baseball player, Christopher Lane, was shot in cold-blood last week.
Lane, who attended East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma was in Duncan visiting his girlfriends family, when he went out for a job. Christopher was apparently a random target by a 15, 16 and 17-year old, who were staying at a house on his jobbing route. According to police, the 17-year old teenager marked Lane as their “target” and because they were bored, shot him in the back with a .22 caliber revolver.
Local residents rushed to the aide of Christoper, performing CPR after he collapsed in the street but the college senior died in the street. “He didn’t deserve any of this,” Lane’s girlfriend, Sarah Harper, told the Australian Broadcasting Corp. “It’s heartbreaking that it was such a random choice those guys made that drastically altered so many lives in the process.”
Christopher was just 22 years old.
