Christina Aguilera isn’t due to give birth until December 18th, but the first-time mommy got the shock of her life when she began having premature contractions that resulted in spotting at a November 10th baby shower.

“She was crying and called her doctor, worried sick about she should do,” a source tells Star Magazine.

“The doctor told her to lie down, put her feet up and take things easy. He said it was probably the excitement of the party and being on her feet all day that brought it on.”

Xtina is rumored to have delayed announcing her pregnancy until her seventh month due to fear of a miscarriage:

“She’s had fears since day one. She was always worried about miscarrying. Her doctor told her early on that she would probably need to go on bed rest, but she was so adamant that she wanted to finish her world tour.”
