Christina Aguilera Breastfeeding Two Year Old Max

File this under Ewwwww!! Christina Aguilera has a “Dirty” plan for hanging on to her ample post-pregnancy bosom. Christina “loves her fuller cleavage,” which she credits to breastfeeding, and she “wants to keep it as long as she can,” according to a Star Magazine spy. The “Fighter” singer is so enthralled with her E-cup cleave she’s decided to keep breastfeeding her five month old son Max until he turns two.
“Christina knows lots of women breastfeed until their kids are two years old-she even heard that Demi Moore did it.”

In all other countries of this world you are looked down upon for NOT breastfeeding a minimum of 2-4 years! In America they frown upon doing exactly that! Get over your eww factor and move away from looking at women as sexual objects!

What is so “eeeww” about nursing a baby for two years? The WHO and the AAP & AAFP recommend *at least* two years of nursing, so I think it’s great that she’s considering this. In a world where so many Celebs stop really early, or don’t nurse at all, just so they can get back “out there” I think Christina is being a wonderful role model for all young women.
Lots of Celeb mums have nursed for this long, Nelly Furtardo, Carrie Ann Moss, Nell McAndrew, Teri Hatcher, notice anything? They are all the smart ones, whilst Britney and J-Lo went with the bottle, I know which ones I think are “eeww”!!

My 1st baby weaned before 2 years, but my 2nd went to 2-1/2 and my 3rd is getting close to 3 years. In a lifespan of 80-100 years, 2-3 years is such a short time, but it can make such a positive difference in long-term health and intelligence.

Nothing wrong with a mom joking about the benefits of breastfeeding. They are there. (And how!) If she’d said she was nursing for the protection against cancers and other health problems for herself (and baby), what would they say then?
The hype is all about the breasts. Get your minds out of the gutter already!

If you people really believe her boobs are that big just from breast feeding you are all a bunch of idiots. She has sooooo obviously had enhancements done to them. Breast feeding does not make your breasts THAT large unless they are engorged and even then they don’t get that big without leaking everywhere. I have had 3 kids and breast fed them all and I can tell you for a fact that there is no way it just from nursing. Just wait until she is “done” nursing and watch–they won’t get much smaller–if it truly was from nursing they would get much smaller and sag…

All the breast feeding in the world won’t preserve those puppies if they are real. They will go down to ‘zero’ after the milk dries up. Do you people know how to read. She isn’t doing it for the health benefits, but FOR HER BOOBS. Which will not stay big, they’ll deflate eventually. And please stop with the breastfeeding obsession. I don’t know anyone breast fed for that long, and I highly doubt they missed out on health and intelligence opportunities because of it. Stop thinking a child is doomed if they are breast fed for 10 years. If all you do is obsess over your kids, I feel sorry for you.

I am sure every woman is different, but I personally went from a cup size DD to a size G over the last trimester of my pregnancy, and only gained about 3 pounds over the last 3 months (I was overweight when I conceived, so it was considered perfectly fine for me not gain too much weight, in fact my OB was very pleased that baby kept growing and I didn’t).
Anyway, more on point, I have a feeling that perhaps in this oversexualized country Ms. Aguilera feels like it is more acceptable to say she’s breast-feeding to keep her boobs big than to admit that she wants to practice extended breastfeeding. Many people I encountered when I was still nursing my daughter at 24 months were shocked and a little taken aback. I don’t regret it for the world.
You go, XTina. xoxo

Good for her. While you may be saying she is just doing it for the cleavage, breastfeeding toddlers is perfectly normal and breastmilk has lots of great benefits that continue as long as mom and baby want to nurse. My two and a half year old is still nursing a few times a day. She seems to need it still, and I know it is keeping her immune system healthy and helping her brain development.

Breastfeeding doesnt make your boobs end up saggy, PREGnancy does… breastfeeding just prolongs the inevitable…your boobs will change in preparation for your new baby regardless of your plans for feeding. You let them dry up in the first two weeks, then 2 weeks post partum they will look exactly the same way that they would had you let them dry up in 2 yrs.Weight also influances this- you gain a truckload during your pregancy, your boobs get bigger not only because of horemones but your increased body fat itself… you loose that weight, boobs will have skin stretched out , just like an overweight non-pregnant woman who loses all the weight. I have been breastfeeding on and off for 8 yrs.. my youngest is going on 3 and still nursing-My boobs are not huge..but then again, I am very very petite so it would look freaky anyway.A woman should never maintain a breastfeeding relationship for vanity (or NOT breastfeed due to vanity) .. It isnt about all that- It is about the health benefits, the emotional bond, and breastfeeding is also very “green”…no packaging, no bottles, no animals or chemicals involved, no waste.. perfect! while I applaud Christina for not only giving her child the priceless benefit of breastfeeding,I cannot applaud her so -called reasons for doing so.By the way, she had implants, her boobs were already big, round and firm, now they are simply appear to be bursting through her blouse …larger than life!

I believe the way a mother chooses to feed her child, should be left up to the mother. The decision should, for the most part, be respected, and left alone.
So again, Kudos to her for the decision she has made for her and her child. Regardless of reasoning.

Ok, we all get it. Breasteeding is good for your baby. But just because you choose to bottlefeed does not make you a crappy mother. I have a 3 year old that I bottlefed. She has been VERY healthy and has yet to even have an ear infection. I am pregnant with my second and do not plan to breastfeed this one either. Yet I still consider myself a great mommy. So many of you need to stop gazing down your noses at those mothers who chose a bottle over the breast.

Lisa - have YOU ever breastfed a child? I have three kids - the y0ungest is going to be 2 next week and YES I am still breastfeeding her. The other two stopped on their own right before their 2nd birthdays. I can tell you that I NEVER imagined myself as one of “those” moms who breastfeed in public. And, once I tried it after my first child was born, I almost gave up. I had mastitis and had to be treated with antibiotics. My breasts hurt so much I spent several days in tears. Same thing happened with my second and third. Is it worth it? Of course. Come on. American women are such wimps about this stuff. My kids have rarely been sick, are smart, social and very well rounded, secure individuals. Would this be so if they weren’t breastfed? Maybe. I don’t know. All I know is I did the best I could for THEM which turned out in the long run to also be the best thing for me. I am 45 years old and can still enjoy those sweet, tender moments with my daughter because she wants to.
Sounds like you don’t know much about this subject at all. It’s not “yucky” or “gross” unless of course you are a teenager watching someone breastfeed for the first time. But teenagers pop their zits in the mirror and I find this kind of gross. I hardly think this is in the same category.

Three cheers for a nursing celeb mom. And, moms who think extending nursing is gross are often deep down guilty they didn’t manage to nurse for one reason or another. No, it doesn’t always go easily in the beginning. i had every problem under the sun, but so glad I stuck it out. I nursed oldest til she was three and tandem nursing her with younger sibling for 18 months. and that youngest is still nursing at 3. We joke that it’s time to stop, but clearly she had a need for that time with mom. Why would I take away the thing that makes her so happy. soon enough the day will come when she won’t want it. Why rush it?
