Christian Bale Meltdown Audio “Terminator: Salvation” Cursing Rant
Christian Bale has lost his damn mind!
TMZ has posted the most scary audio of The Dark Knight star having a profanity-laced coronary on the set of Terminator: Salvation last Summer.
According to TMZ, all Hell broke loose on the set after a director of photography, Shane Hurlbut, accidentally ruined a scene by walking onto the set. Bale went bonkers, cursing, raving, and threatening to quit if movie bosses didn’t fire the poor sap.
“I want you off the f***ing set, you pr***,” Christian says in the audio, recorded at Kirtland Air Force Base in New Mexico.
“I’m sorry,” Hurlbut replies.
“No, don’t just be sorry. Think for one f***king second,” Bale reportedly shouts. “What the f*** are you doing? Are you a professional or not?”
“Yes, I am.”
“No, no. Am I gonna f***ing rip your lights down in the middle of the scene? What the f*** is it with you? What the f*** don’t you understand?”
He continues,
“You got any f***ing idea about… Hey, it’s f***ing distracting having somebody walking up behind Bryce [Dallas Howard] in the middle of the f***ing scene. Give me a f***ing answer. What don’t you get about it?”
This guy’s a real piece of work. How dare he speak to another human being that way! Oh hell no. This kind of outburst will get the snot kicked out of you where I’m from.

I heard the audio and it is ridiculous behavior. I don't get how this guy got the Batman role to begin with. He is one-dimensional, not a likeable guy, and, I think, not all that good looking. A cardboard cutout could be subbed in for him. Heath, may he rest in peace, certainly benefited from playing opposite of this bonehead. By comparison, I think Ledgers performance along side Bale went from good to great in my eyes since he was the only character of interest. Spoiled prima donna actor showing how he really thinks of the "little people"

Well it may have been a bit "over the top" but I think his rant is completely justified. When you've got a movie worth hundreds of millions of dollars riding largely on your performance it's unthinkable and inexcusable for some idiot to go waltzing through the background while you are trying to stay in character. When your face is 25 feet tall on a big screen, any little movement of your eyes is amplified and visible, and will destroy the audience's 'suspension of disbelief'. ANY movement which could distract you could ruin a take. Of all the people involved on the set, the DP should KNOW that. He deserved to have his a$$ reamed – good. If it was some tech wandering around I might have some sympathy because simply might not know, but the DP should be acutely aware of such things.

As a filmmaker, I see where you are coming from but I still would have to disagree with you. A million-dollar budget film is already going to be taking probably ten to twenty damn good takes of that scene. If one is ruined it is hell of frustrating, but it's not worth the reaming that DP got. Not to mention–in the film hierarchy nowadays, the DP is right there under the Director and so he is key in making the film look as good as it does–the actor, on the other hand, is not. Especially not this one.
