Christian Bale Reaches Out to Eight-Year-Old Leukemia Patient
Christian Bale found himself at the center of a torrent of negative publicity after audio surfaced of him angrily ranting on the set of the 2009 action movie Terminator Salvation. But the Oscar-winning actor has done a lot to change improve his image since then, including his recent gesture to an 8-year-old boy battling cancer.
Bale gave leukemia patient Zach Guillot — a die-hard Batman fan — a thrill by calling him in his hospital room and chatting with him about his role in the comic book franchise.
“The thing that’s great about Batman, and the whole point of the movie, is that anybody can be Batman,” Bale can be heard telling Zach in a video uploaded to YouTube by the boy’s parents. “You know, anyone can be as strong as that, and help people, and do good in the world.”
