While the rest of the Gleekers are clawing for recording contracts, outspoken Glee star Chris Colfer is using the same knack for the written word that recently turned him into a respected screenwriter to snap up a two-book deal with Little Brown Books for Young Readers. Chris’ first work as a novelist will come in the form of an adventure novel titled The Land of Stories. The tome is set to arrive on booksellers’ shelves next summer.

“When I was ten years old, I promised myself that if I ever had the opportunity to write this book, I would jump at the chance. This book has been at the core of my imagination for a long time and I’m excited and nervous to share it,” says Colfer, who recently penned the scripts for a Disney Channel pilot and the movie Struck by Lightning, currently in pre-production.
