Chris Brown Apology For Rihanna Assault (VIDEO); Begs Fans For Forgiveness
After nearly six months of silence, Chris Brown has publicly apologized for savagely assaulting former girlfriend Rihanna in a Pre-Grammys brawl in Los Angeles back in February.
In a video posted to his official website Monday, a somber Brown extends an apology for the incident, saying he wanted to “publicly express my deepest regret and accept full responsibility.”
The R&B crooner says he remained silent until at the request of his legal team. The star opens up about being raised in a home where there was domestic violence, but cautions that there is no excuse for his actions.
“Since February, my attorney has advised me not to speak out, even though ever since the incident I wanted to publicly express my deepest regret and accept full responsibility,” the singer said in the two-minute clip. “Although I will do some interviews and answer some questions in the future, I felt that it was time that you heard directly from me that I am sorry.”
Chris ends his video message, by saying: “What I did was unacceptable 100%. I can only ask and pray that you forgive me, please.”
Thoughts on this? Is he sincere?
