Kim Kardashian-Humphries isn’t the only newly married celeb heating up the blogosphere this weekend: Award-winning country singer Chely Wright also got hitched.
Wright — who claims her career took a nosedive after she came out as a lesbian in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE Magazine in May 2010 — tied the knot with her partner Lauren Blitzer on Saturday. Wright, 40, wed Blitzer, 30, a GLBT Civil Rights activist, at Blitzer’s aunt’s home in Connecticut. Since Cheryl is Christian and Lauren is Jewish, both a reverend and a rabbi presided over the ceremony.
The girls insisted.
Both brides wore white wedding gowns, but decided against veils.
“We like our hair too much!” Chely explains.
The 200-plus guests in attendance dined on barbecue from NYC’s famed Blue Smoke — despite Wright’s staunch vegetarianism.
“Lauren’s idea – not my influence!” she jokes.
