Sheesh — Not a good week to be E!’s First Lady of Late Night. Eh?

A nanosecond after The New York Times slammed her as “one of the worst hosts in the history” of MTV’s Video Music Awards, Chelsea Lately is again warding off a public relations nightmare as rumors of a sex tape starring the comedienne resurface for the second time this year.

Handler has insisted that said skin flick is actually a simulated skit included as part of her first audition tape. The footage– which is at least 10 years old — is comprised of a then-twentysomething Chelsea’s standup routine followed by a 15-second sequence of Handler taking it doggy style.

Well….that’s one way to land a job!

Chelsea allegedly include the snippet to help her tape gain the interest of agents, but RadarOnline informants chuckle that her comedy set was so terrible many probably hit the eject button before the brief sex scene.

“After Radar broke the existence of Chelsea’s sex tape several people came forward with copies. It’s been shopped around for the past four months and a deal is very close to being made. Chelsea gave this demo tape to a bunch of talent agents and managers hoping to book some gigs. It was taken so long ago, distributed on old VHS tapes and the stand-up was so bad that most of the recipients of the tape probably didn’t even watch past the first couple of minutes and missed the sex tape part altogether.”
