Lauren Conrad is crediting E!’s First Lady of Late Night with inspiring her next novel.
(If LC’s next book sucks, you guys know who to blame.)
The former star of MTV’s The Hills has revealed that the upcoming sequel to her semi-autobiographical debut novel, L.A. Candy, is partly inspired by sharp-tongued comedienne and Chelsea Lately host Chelsea Handler.
Lauren is currently penning the next chapter in the life of series protagonist Jane Roberts, a girl who moves to Hollywood and gets her own reality show, which topped The New York Times Best-Seller list earlier this year.
“I love people who can bring their voice into the story,” Lauren said speaking to OK! Magazine. “I just read both of Chelsea Handler’s books and I love them because you can hear her voice in there. I think that’s really great that you bring personality to story.”
That’s funny, because in an interview just last week with Lauren’s arch nemesis Kristin Cavallari, Chelsea quipped that LC lacks “personality.”
She added: “I sit in my bed in my pajamas, and there were days when I’d write for ten hours straight. But I have to turn off all distractions around me. I turn off my phone, close my door. You just have to get into that zone.”
