Prince Charles, environmental leader?!?

Who knew!

As the Prince and his betrothed, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, finish up their whirlwind U.S. tour of ‘07, it’s evident the spirit of Princess Diana has rubbed off.

And with Harry and William doing service for their countrymen, we’re starting to see a new kind of royal presence in the UK, marked by patriotism, generosity, and warmth.

For starters, Charles received an award from Harvard Medical School’s Center for Global Health and The Environment, an honor given to his highness (who’s taken a firm stance on the issue in numerous public talks) by former VP and Inconvenient Truth hero Al Gore.

Another pit stop that garnered press: a visit to the Harlem Children’s Zone, which runs a range of social services for children. Charles and Cam didn’t stop at the meet and greet. The power couple attended sports matches and after-school programs.

Yes, Di would’ve been proud.
