After announcing her shocking decision to transition from female to male just last month, Chastity/Chaz Bono has already received a number of lucrative offers to document her sex change with a new television reality series, The National Enquirer has learned.

“Chaz has been fielding offers from reality show producers who want to show her sex change on camera,” says a family friend.

Chaz, the 40-year-old daughter of 60s-70s music duo Sonny & Cher, is no stranger to the world of reality television, having appeared on VH1’s Celebrity Fit Club in 2005. However this is one soiree with unscripted TV that Chaz’ legendary mom can’t get behind.

While Cher is supportive of her daughter’s decision to undergo gender reassignment surgery, she does not want her family get dragged into the wacky world of reality TV, a pal tells The Enquirer.

“Cher was shocked that Chaz even considered documenting her life — let alone her sex change on camera. Cher treasures her privacy.”

Despite her mom’s displeasure, Chaz hasn’t ruled out chronicling her journey from girl to boy, possibly for a future documentary.

“As a gay activist, Chaz is adamant about recording her sexual identity struggles and her transition from female to male,” says a friend, who adds, “Her concern is that it be done tastefully. If she does it at all, she wants a documentary style format, and for it to be educational.”
