Charlie’s Angels, ABC’s iconic action -drama, is the latest nostalgia-TV project in line for reincarnation, Variety has learned. ABC has ordered a revamped pilot of Aaron Spelling’s small screen hit, which aired from 1976-1981 and made sex symbols out of stunning stars Jaclyn Smith, Kate Jackson, and Farrah Fawcett.
Sony and executive producer Drew Barrymore — who starred in two Charlie’s Angels features at the box office — will work on the project in cooperation with writer-producer Josh Friedman, who previously brought his skills to FOX’s now-defunct series Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
