Charlie Sheen Weighs In on “Duck Dynasty” Debate; Phil’s Not Backing Down

We never would have taken Charlie Sheen for the activist type, but the MaSheen has joined the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation and other interest groups with a bone to pick with Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson.

In a foul-mouthed Twitter tirade that would Kanye West blush, Charlie lit into Robertson — who remains under fire for anti-gay and racially insensitive remarks he made in the January issue of GQ magazine. The future of Phil’s hit A&E reality show hangs in the balance after the network placed him on indefinite suspension over the controversy. The move prompted the rest of the Robertson clan to refuse to shoot.

But we get the feeling Charlie won’t be too broken up if the “dynasty” never makes another appearance on the small screen.

Sheen tweeted Saturday:

“Hey Mallard brained Phil Robertso! you have offended and hurt so many dear friends of mine, who DO NOT have the voice or the outreach that I do.”

The former Two and a Half Men star then went on a lengthy verbal assault, writing:

“I will speak loudly and clearly for ALL of them. So, just when your desperately sub evolved ass thought the pressure was off, you are now in the crosshairs of a MaSheen style media beat down.”

Sounds dangerous.

Charlie went on to call Phil’s comments unforgivable and referred to the church deacon as the “only surviving brain donor” he’s ever known.

If it’s an apology Sheen’s looking for, it appears he’s going to be very disappointed. Robertson addressed the controversy surrounding his candid comments and defended his stance while attending his West Monroe, Louisiana Bible study group on Sunday.

He preached:

“I will not give or back off from my path. Common sense says we are not going to procreate the human race unless we have a man and a woman. From the beginning Jesus said, ‘It is a man and a woman.’ Adam was made and Eve was made for this reason. They left their fathers and mothers and be united to become one flesh, that’s what marriage is all about.”
