Charlie Davies Car Accident — Soccer Player Davies Injured In Crash
U.S. Men’s National Soccer Team forward Charlie Davies,of Manchester, New Hampshire, was among three people seriously injured in a car accident outside Washington, DC this morning.

Davies, 23, was injured in a single-car accident that left a young woman dead in the Washington suburbs of Northern Virgina early Tuesday, according to U.S. Park Police. Police officials say the crash happened around 3:15 AM in the southbound lanes of the George Washington Parkway at Boundary Channel Drive, south of the Memorial Bridge.
Ashley Roberta, 22, of Phoenix, Maryland was killed in the accident. Two others were hurt. There’s no word yet on what caused the Lexus truck the victims had been traveling in to veer off course. U.S. Soccer Federation Neil Buethe says Davies is in stable condition after more than 5 hours of surgery. His injuries are not life-threatening.
The U.S. Men’s National Soccer Team is scheduled to play Costa Rica at RFK Stadium in Washington on Wednesday night.
