Homicidal loon Charles Manson — who is incarcerated for life stemming from the notorious Manson Family Murders of 1969 — is forging ahead with plans for a musical career and is seeking help from a fellow inmate, legendary producer Phil Spector. Manson is known for masterminding the savage Tate/LaBianca massacre forty years ago.

Spector is serving 19 years to life for the fatal shooting of actress Lara Clarkson. Phil’s wife, Rachelle Spector has revealed that Phil was recently transferred to Corcoran State Prison in central California, where Manson is housed in a separate wing.

Spector’s producing credits include the hits “Be My Baby,” “Da Doo Ron Ron,” “River Deep, Mountain High,” “Unchained Melody,” and The Beatles’ groundbreaking Let It Be album.

The New York Post reports: “A guard brought Philip a note from Manson, who said he wanted him to come over to his [lockup]. He said he considers Philip the greatest producer who ever lived. It was creepy. Philip didn’t respond.”

According to Spector’s publicist Hal Lifson: “I think Manson wants to glean some musical advice from Phil, who was a ’60s music god with his ‘Wall of Sound’. But Phil’s like, ‘I used to pick up the phone and it was John Lennon or Celine Dion or Tina Turner, and now Charles Manson is trying to get a hold of me!’”
