Since retired Chicago Cubs slugger Sammy Sosa showed up to the Latin Grammys last week looking like an understudy for Brad Pitt, the entertainment world has been abuzz with speculation and debate about the Domincan athlete’s new lighter complexion.

“Is Sammy sick?” some asked. Does he suffer from a skin condition, like vitiligo perhaps? Maybe he’s a victim of the body dysmorphia that plagues thousands of people? Sammy attributes his unrecognizable transformation to a new “moisturizing” cream he’s thinking of endorsing. Former basketball forward and colorful commentator Charles Barkley added his voice to the discussion during a TNT doubleheader on Thursday night.

“I know you want to get in the Hall Of Fame but going white ain’t the way to go…” said Charles Barkley, who then got white paint applied to his face on air because he’s tired of getting stopped when he’s driving his fast car around town. Barkley and cast tried to visualize what it would look like if both he and colleague Kenny Smith were to turn white.

“Seriously, I love chitlin’s…. I’m telling y’all, though, if I was white for a couple of minutes, I’d be missing some chitlin’s and hamhocks already. What about honey buns and grape and coke?” Charles quipped. Then they switch to a clip of Sammy done up like the infamous Joker, complete with red lips.

“Sammy Sosa, you know I got love for you, man, Stop it! Stop It, Sammy Sosa! Are you kidding me?”
