Chad Ochocinco/Johnson Released by Miami Dolphins After Weekend Dispute with Evelyn Lozada; VH1 Yanks Reality Series
Are Chad Ochocinco’s (aka Chad Johnson, depending on who’s telling the story) wide receiving days kaput?
Word is the flamboyant NFL gridironer/VH1 reality star has been axed from the roster of the Miami Dolphins one day after he was arrested at his Davie, Florida home in connection with a domestic violence incident. According to a police report, Johnson head-butted his sassy new bride Evelyn Lozada, perhaps best known as one of VH1’s notoriously volatile Basketball Wives.
Although team officials have yet to comment on the record, Dolphins sources say Johnson’s locker has already been cleaned out. The estranged couple were the stars of the VH1 docu-soap, Ev and Ocho, which chronicles the planning process leading up to their July 4 wedding in St. Maarteen.
The operative word there being “were.”
Adding insult to injury, VH1 has cancelled Evelyn and Chad’s show. In a statement Monday, the network said:
“Due to the unfortunate events over the weekend and the seriousness of the allegations, VH1 is pulling the series Ev and Ocho from its schedule and has no current plans of airing it.”
Ev and Ocho was originally scheduled to premiere Sept. 3.
