Interesting list. Though, I really don’t understand why all this wight gain/loss is necessary there are tons of actors that would fit these roles that did not get cats just because they are not famous. And with most of the roles they would be at their healthy weight as opposed to someone who is starving themselves to prove they are a tough enough actor. Why make “pretty” people “ugly” to fit into a role? There are plenty of “ugly” actors out there to choose from that may be better then the ones being cast.

I like that they referenced Hilary Swank’s character in Boys Don’t Cry as “a boy.” When I read that description, I thought, “wow, this author must be pretty progressive, to just accept that Brandon Teena is male and leave it at that.”

That character (and person, as the film is based on a true story) identified as male and therefore was. End of story. Calling him a “boy” is not at all out of line, and it saddened me to see someone (rachel) who obviously cares about the gender binary problem in our society, say otherwise.

I agree that Renee Zellweger looks better with more weight, but I can tell you that there is no way she’s a size six in the skinny picture. I am a size six and on no part of my body to my bones stick out like that.

Actor Vincent D’Onofrio gained a world record of 70 lbs for his role as “Gomer Pyle” in the film, Full Metal Jackey. In his next film (Adventures in Babysitting), he was extremely fit and well-toned.

These are not the only films in which D’Onofrio has transformed himself for a role. There are many others, and at least one of them should should have made this list, if not all of them.

For Christ’s sake! someone has put time into putting together this list, so I think some of you people need to stop being so ridiculous and just look at it for what it is, it is NOT a list of every transformation, it is some, stop complaining people aren’t on it, and it is NOT a discussion about transgender!

‘Creative computer craft’ in 300? I beg to differ, Lauren. Those physiques were real. It was mentioned in an interview once, Gerard Butler’s ab muscles were so defined in that movie, he could stick his fingers between them. He looks quite buff in the ‘before’ photo, though. The author could have used a photo of a leaner GB to really highlight the muscle gain in the ‘after’ photo.

with the exception of the machinist , not one photo set in this article shows anything like “body transformation” the actors DID DO IT, the articles author just dident bother to find the pictures to show it,

“shirt on/shirt off pictures” are lazy at best ,and bad photo journalism at worst
