This is a prime example of why so many legal cases (especially sex crimes)are heard “in camera”, because by the nature of ANY crime, a certain degree of legal knowledge is required to know exactly what is going on; the fact remains that most of the people here who use the words “sicko” etc as well as the owner of this page who almost suggest that the Hollywood celebrities listed could be “boycotted”, a)dont know the facts of the case, b)are definitely not qualified to cmment on the case and c)never bothered to read the transcripts or the notes of the case. IF THEY HAD DONE SO, you would find that in any civilised country, the judge, Rittenband, acted improperly, broke promises and ultimately jeapordised the case (making it probable that if Polanski had been CORRECTLY convicted, he could have claimed mistrial or asked for a retrial).
And it is irrelevant whether he was a celebrity or not; everybody SHOULD be considered equal in a court.
This site proves (as if we needed further proof) that Americans are a childish, sheeplike bunch of ignorants who are easily drummed up to this type of nonsense by an-powerful press, when they COULD have read the details of the case (as I suspect the celebrities listed above did or found them somewhere rather than believe everything they hear in a Fox-News-type of journalism).
I understand the USA is a young nation (mentally speaking) but why are Americans so ignorant AND unwilling to learn?
The owner of this page should stop defaming these actors/directors/producers/writers and a)learn to read and get a job!

Roman Polanski is a sick twisted piece of garbage. Anyone else who committed this kind of crime would have been sent to the US long ago but this rich fat cat has the money and power to avoid his rightful judgment, enough with the nonsense, send him to California and have him live the rest of his days in captivity like the animal he is.

And Abe – congratulations. How long did you have to search to find a “pro-polanski” article? The young girl had sex with her boyfriend so it’s okay that an older man drugged and raped her? And she’d experiemented with drugs before, so that makes it okay as well? He’s a grown man, he should’ve known better, that is absolutely disgusting and inexcusable. Would we feel more sorry for the girl if she wasn’t developed and was a virgin? That hardly seems right.

Frank… Polanski admitted to drugging and raping a 13 year old girl. Why the hell would anyone give him the benefit of the doubt? Are you kidding me?That’s the most absurd thing I’ve ever heard.

And Andy.. apparently the rape was consensual… right. So why the hell would he have to drug her? And the 13 year olds looking like 17 year olds comment… haha, are you serious? Gross. This is beyond ridiculous. He admitted to raping someone, then fled the country. How does anyone know he’s not still raping other young women? The man should serve his time. I think he’s absolutely disgusting… talk about preferential treatment for celebrities.

Roman Polanski is a sexual predator and child molester by our legal system. He has flaunted the law and evaded any consequences of significance.
I personally do not believe that the US government is incapable of exerting influence to France (or now Switzerland) to bring him back for justice regardless of extradition treaties. Money and Hollywood have become above the law. Unfortunately Roman Polanski is only a pebble in the ocean of what goes on today. The US has lost it’s backbone and ethics. It’s use it or lose it and we have been losing it for a while. Of course money sex and drugs are rampant in the masses of people running our country today so sadly it is little surprise. And sexual exploitation of a minor is just what it says-sorry but rape is not always rape does not apply to child abuse.

“Forcibly raped” is a redundancy: rape is violence by definition. That he raped a girl is not in question: he admits it himself in his plea bargain – having sex with an underage person is rape. Then he ran away from the trial: I wonder if it was because he was innocent. Btw, his plea bargain was convenient for him (or he wouldn’t accept it), so the real thing he did was probably much worse (we know it was). So, what is your queston, again? The best thing about the current situation is that Polanski is still sitting in jail. This situation gives people confidence in the law and the American justice system. Well done to the Switz Courts in detaining Polanski.
