Celebrity tattles tell us that the six year old May/December romance between Oscar winners Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas could be in trouble.

“Catherine Zeta Jones was spotted eating alone yesterday days after a long term friend of the star spoke out to a UK magazine sparking rumours that the stars eight year [sic - they married in November, 2000] marriage could be trouble. Catherine who is married to Michael Douglas, has reportedly experienced more downs in her marriage of late than ups. Their most recent row being in New York during a ceremony when Michael accepted the role of an ambassador with the UN. Catherine reportedly was in tears.

Strains have also developed due to Micheal’s happiness for a quiet life at home, while Catherine has strong desires to make another film and earn another Oscar. Rumours were fuelled further when Catherine recently held the hand of her co star from No Reservations at an awards show in Miami, days after Michael joked he’d like to star in a movie with his wife so he could do away with her.

It’s no surprise - it was bound to happen as soon his face lift wore off and he started looking his age if not older. You can understand he wants to lay back and enjoy what’s left of his life while Catherine’s life is is high gear. She wants to garner more attention from her career and leave Michael at home with the kids.

She got what she bargained for - fortune and fame. Her career kicked into high gear after she married Michael and her investments paid off (after advice from Michael). She said she would never, never divorce him, so it should be interesting to see what she does. If she leaves him now, who will watch her kids while she is off with her career. And could she really consider leaving him and his $200 million? She’s a gold digger and it will show in the end.

Catherine’s career was (and still is) in high gear when she married Douglas. She’s a sharp cookie and doesn’t need Douglas. Maybe she was infatuated with him when they married, big deal. Douglas appears to be impressed with himself. He a good actor but like all good things… they must come to an end. He is not like his father. The comments from De Luca sound like a typical cynic.
