Hairspray stars Zac Efron and Brittany Snow have reportedly been approached to star alongside Miley Cyrus in a motion picture remake of the motion picture and small screen hit Gidget.

According to MovieHole.com, Miley is being courted to play waverider Gidget in a project that would bring the classic back to television. Zac — who Miley recently admitted to crushing on — would play her love interest.

Actress Sandra Dee originated the role of in Paul Wendkos’s 1959 film actress — Oscar-winning star Sally Field took over the role in a shortlived TV series a few years later.

Add Zac Efron to the list of attached celebrities Miley Cyrus would like to sink her underage claws into. Disney’s “Hannah Montana,” age 16, spent Tuesday afternoon lusting after 17 Again star Zac Efron in a series of message posted to her Twitter page.

“Me and mom are seriously sitting here staring at Zac Efron on Google images….Girls I totally get it! He is gorgeous!” she Tweeted.

Someone should remind Miley that Efron has been dating his High School Musical co-star Vanessa Hudgens for more than three years. Perhaps it would be best of Miley keeps her orgasmic shouts of glee over Zac’s paparazzi shots to herself…

Keep your eyes peeled to the small screen for a guest appearance by HSM cutie Zac Efron when the sixth season of Entourage premieres on HBO July 12 @ 10:30PM. Zac was spotted filming scenes this morning at the Beverly Hills Niketown store before it opened to the public, E!’s Kristin Dos Santos is reporting.

Zac Efron was “ecstatic” to learn that Gossip Girl hottie Chace Crawford has been chosen to replace him in Paramount Picture’s upcoming motion picture remake of Footloose.

“I’m ecstatic for him. We’re both in very different places and it just happened to work out. I think it’s gonna work out for the best.”

The 17 Again star — best known for his role as Troy in Disney’s High School Musical franchise — dropped out of the film earlier this year, citing fears that he would become typecast in musical roles.
