An assault charge against Molina was dropped Wednesday after the manager issued a written apology to Hilton. Molina allegedly punched Hilton — whose real name is Mario Lavandeira — from behind outside a Toronto nightclub outside a Toronto nightclub following the MuchMusic Video Awards in June. Fists started flying after the openly gay blogger referred to Black Eyed Peas’ leader will.i.am as a slur for homosexuals. (Perez later told OUT Magazine that his initial reaction was to call Will the “N-word.”)

Molina’s lawyer, Mark Sandler, read the apology outside the courthouse.

“I apologize for what I did on June 22 of 2009, even though you engaged in highly offensive comments, including a homophobic slur to my clients, I acknowledge that these kinds of issues should not be resolved through a physical response,” Sandler read.

Attorneys for the blogger said they were unhappy with the choice of words in the apology, but it would be grudingly accepted:

“Although accepting the fact that he shouldn’t resort to violence, he attempted to say that there was a precipitating cause,” Hilton’s lawyer, Brian Greenspan, said afterwards. “A sincere apology is a sincere apology.”

In an interview with the website The Gossip Kid on Monday, singer Kelly Clarkson said that while she does not condone violence, Perez had it coming. Kelly noted that since blogger is not even nice to young celebrities, like Disney’s Miley Cyrus, or the children of celebs, no one is going to shed any tears for him.

“You’re mean to children! No one’s going to pity you,” Kelly joked.

“I do not think violence is the answer, but what do you expect? I’m surprised it hasn’t happened already,” the original American Idol laughed. “I’m thinking how much did will.i.am pay his manager to do that?”

Perez claims he was attacked by will.i.am and his entourage at the MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto on Sunday night. On Monday, the bruised and bloodied blogger uploaded an 11 minute, 42 second video attacking Will and insulting his bandmate Fergie.

On his Twitter page, John said: “Last year Pink kneed me in the nuts outside Chateau Marmont. I was pissing blood for days. Did I make a scene? Perez Hilton’s video statement is so long that by the end of it his cut healed.”

On Monday, The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation blasted a seething Perez — who is openly gay — for referring to Will as that other “F-word” in an vlog uploaded after Sunday’s brawl.

In a statement to E! News, Hilton says: “I am saddened GLAAD chose to victimize me further by criticizing me for how I nonviolently dealt with a very scary situation that, unfortunately, turned violent. While I doubt I will get an apology from GLAAD, nor do I expect one, I would just hope people know how difficult it is to intellectualize a situation and think rationally when a thug disguised as a musician is screaming at your face and intimidating you. I am just very fortunate and grateful that nothing more serious happened to me.”

Will.i.am posted an online response on Monday morning denying he hit Perez.

“This dude twists it, and says that I assaulted him, when I was the one that came to him with respect and he was the one who called me a faggot outside the club, whatever,” the Black Eyed Peas frontman said in the posted video. “I hit you Perez? Come on dude. I didn’t hit you.”

“I told you that I didn’t like the fact that you disrespected us. It’s cool to have your opinion, but dude, apparently you were bleeding outside the club, I was like next to you by a tree waiting for my car and instead of calling the police, you Tweeted that I assaulted you…..”

Moments ago, Perez took to his own blog, this time accusing the band’s manager of allegedly assaulting him.

“I know that I say things that can really upset people, that’s never a reason to hit someone. Will.I.Am made a video and he lied. Will.I.Am is a coward and disgusting human being for lying. I am making this video because I want to make it clear that I would never make up something like this. I would never lie about something so serious,” Perez said in his video response.

Black Eyed Peas lyricist Will.i.Am is speaking out against reports that he and his entourage beat razor-tongued celebrity snitch Perez Hilton to a bloody pulp after the MuchMusic Awards in Toronto last night.

Will claims the trouble started after P.H. started getting real reckless with his mouth. According to the rapper, Perez ran up in his face and yelled, “You’re a faggot, will.i.am.”

Will says that a few of his fans got upset and began beating. The blogger, however, claims that the beating was delivered by Will and his security.

Perez took to his Twitter page immediately following the beatdown, begging his followers to contact the authorities.

“I hate you Perez. Come on dude, I didn’t hit you. I told you that I didn’t like the fact the you disrespected us. Early Monday, Perez took to his Twitter account to ask for help after he says he was assaulted by the BEP rapper and his security guards.

Beginning just after 3 a.m., Perez started tweeting about the alleged attack, writing:
