Victoria Beckham’s movie career is apparently taking off. (Insert eye-rolling here….) The ex-Spice-Girl-turned-fashion-designer has reportedly landed a role in the next installment of the Madagascar animated film series.
Beckham has been cast in first Hollywood role alongside Ben Stiller and David Schwimmer in the upcoming Madagascar 3, according to new reports. The 35-year-old mother of three will voice a character in the film, which is due for release in 2012.
The first Madagascar movie, about a group of zoo animals accidentally shipped back to Africa, was a hit at the international box office upon its release in 2005. A successful sequel, Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa, followed in 2008.
This won’t be VB’s first venture into the world of animation; the singer provided a voice-over for the Nickelodeon hit SpongeBob Squarepants earlier this year.
Victoria Beckham is in discussions to launch her own modeling agency with British mogul Simon Fuller.
The singer-turned-designer – who already helms her own fashion label – is reportedly in talks with her former manager to set up the new business venture in New York City. Read the rest of this entry »
Paging PETA! Singer-turned-fashion designer Victoria Beckham will surely get herself into a pickle with animal rights activists after plopping down more than $2,000 on a piggy purchase. The fashion icon recently bought a pair of miniature pot-bellied Gloucester pigs — dubbed Piggy and Perky — as an early Christmas present for hubby David.

Victoria Beckham is in talks to appear as a judge on a new BBC talent contest patterned after the American TV hit So You Think You Can Dance.
The 35-year-old fashionista formerly known as Posh is in talks with the network and producer Nigel Lythgoe to star as a judge on the show scheduled to premiere early next year.
“The plan is for her to judge in one or two shows. Victoria has only made a handful of appearances on British television so it would be a real coup,” a tattle close to negotiations told London’s Daily Mail this week.
Victoria Beckham has landed a role on The CW’s primetime teen soap Gossip Girl.
The former Spice Girl is due to fly to New York City this Wednesday, Oct. 21, where she will complete filming for her cameo appearance, London’s The Mirror has learned.

But the days of family fun days at L.A. Galaxy games are over for The Beckhams and The Cruises, who rarely see one another.
“Victoria and David have moved on from Tom and Katie,” Taylor tattles in the Sept. 21 issue of NW Magazine. “They used to do everything together, but now they only meet up very occasionally. Now, they’re hanging with Demi and Ashton … They’ve expanded their social network.”
Victoria Beckham is crushed she wouldn’t be appearing on the cover of the US Vogue only because she posed for the October issue of Elle Magazine, the Fashion Bible’s main competitor.
Ina bid to impress the magazine bosses, she has been vying for the chance of appearing on the cover, however, the magazine’s notoriously tought editor Anna Wintour is said to have snubbed Beckham, who recently appeared on the cover of Elle.
“Victoria hoped to land the Vogue cover but it fell through weeks ago. She posed for Elle instead and now Vogue won”t consider her for at least four months,” a industry insider revealed to Britain’s Daily Mail over the weekend.
The former Spice Girl has already appeared on the British and Russian editions of Vogue.
“I do have my insecurities. Maybe that’s why I look a little bit serious. The kind of person who’s going to stand on the red carpet and have the big grin — I’m not like that. I want to get in there, do what I’ve got to do, and get home to my kids,” Victoria Beckham, Elle Magazine Oct. 2009, on newsstands Sept. 14.
Fashion icon Victoria Beckham has extended her guest judging gig on American Idol.
The Associated Press reports that the former Spice Girl joined Idol judges in Boston on Thursday, after she judged auditions last Friday in Denver.
Despite reports that Idol contestants were not receptive to Beckham, the star’s rep says she was asked back to the show following the success of her Idol stint in Denver.
“They asked her back because it went so well and she was so natural with the judges and the contestants,” says her rep.
Victoria Beckham hated Spice World just as much as the rest of us.
Despite rumors that she was in discussions to appear in the upcoming Sex And The City sequel, V.B. says we won’t see her chasing any acting dreams anytime soon because her acting skills are “crap”
The 35-year-old says her terrible performance in 1997’s Spice World would destroy her chances of becoming an actress.
“Every time anybody wants to flog (sell) anything, they attach my name to it… I can’t act; you should see Spice World; I’m so crap!”
