On The Tonight Show Thursday, host Conan O’Brien offered a personal apology to the father of Sarah Palin’s grandson for “misrepresenting him in any way” in a skit that aired the previous evening. Conan and his program came under fire yesterday after featuring television legend William Shatner in a spoof spoken word segment that featured Tweets taken from Levi Johnston’s Twitter account. There’s just one problem — Levi doesn’t have a Twitter.
The move came after reps for Levi Johnston threatened legal action against The Tonight Show and the social media mecca, claiming the 19-year-old was being impersonated on the site. At the top of the show, Conan said he’d woken up to “shocking news.” “Apparently the tweets that we read were counterfeit,” he said. “They were written by a clever impostor posing as the witty Levi Johnston. And the real Levi is very angry with us now.”
He continued, “I’d like to personally apologize to Levi Johnston and his lawyer and publicist for misrepresenting him in any way.” Conan proceeded to welcome William Shatner back to recite “some real, verified quotes from Levi Johnston” as spoken-word poetry.
Levi Johnston is being impersonated on Twitter. The moose-shootin’ former penis slipper of Bristol Palin has theatened legal action against the popular microblogging social site and The Tonight Show after racially-insensitive Tweets posted to the account were read as spoken word poetry by William Shatner during Wednesday’s edition of The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien.

“Look Perez, you make a living off telling lies and trying to associate yourself with anyone who is in the media for press. We should all just call you Michael Lohan. You’re the gay version of Michael Lohan,” the 22-year-old college dropout fumed in one Tweet.

Miley Cyrus thinks Twitter should be banned from the universe.
The Hannah Montana star recently left the popular microblogging site and later wrote a rap explaining her reasons for doing so. However, Miley believes the service is “unhealthy” because it prevents people from experiencing life.
“The next shopping spree I’m going on is for a new last name!!!” the actress Tweeted late Friday night in a series of Tweets attacking her estranged father, Michael Lohan. Twittering with the dead, can it be done? Who knows, but one UK psychic plans to give it a try this Halloween. Psychic Jayne Wallace is appealing to Twitter junkies to submit questions to late superstars, like Michael Jackson, Kurt Cobain, River Phoenix, and William Shakespeare. Jayne will then relay the questions to the dead stars if she is able to make contact with them in a seancé this Friday night (London time).

The gay community aren’t the only ones baffled by Kansas City Chiefs running back Larry Johnson and his rash of homophobic tirades earlier this week; Larry has also hurt his father. Larry Johnson Sr. remembers his childhood in the Jim Crow American South and understands inequality and discrimination all too well.
“I went through that,” he said. “My generation.”

He says he raised them to consider everyone equal, regardless of race, gender, beliefs, or sexual orientation. That’s why the 56-year-old is so ashamed that his son used gay slurs in public two times in just 24 hours. Larry — who was indefinitely suspended by the NFL on Tuesday — hurled the “f-word” at reporters in the Chiefs’ locker room on Monday. He also posted disparaging anti-gay remarks about coach Todd Haley on Twitter.
