With her seventh album Love? expected to debut early next year, Jennifer Lopez has hit the pavement on her “Pick Up My LP” promo campaign. And while her knowledge of the entertainment industry is abound, the singer/actress’ familiarity with the microblogging giant that is Twitter could use some fine-tuning.

Unless Britney Spears has developed a penchant for devi worship, the pop tart’s Twitter account has been hijacked by some very mischievous Tweeters — for the second time this year.

A pair of messages purporting that Britney has joined the “Dark Side” were posted to the singer’s account on Thursday.

“I give myself to Lucifer every day for it to arrive as quickly as possible. Glory to Satan,” reads one message.

A second read: “I hope that the new world order will arive as soon as possible! –Britney.”A while later, another message was posted.

“Britney’s twitter account was just hacked,” this one said. “The situation has been resolved and we apologize for any offense the hacker’s messages caused.”

The Tweets have still yet to be removed.

Britney is currently touring Australia, where she has caused controversy by miming through recent gigs.

“Shit My Dad Says” is set for the small screen.

Will & Grace creators David Kohan and Max Mutchnick are on board to executive produce a television sitcom based on the knee-slapping Twitter sensation of the same name, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

George Lopez’s new late night talk show, Lopez Tonight, premieres this Monday night @ 11PM on TBS — and the self-proclaimed Latin King of Comedy is getting the word out with a little help from Twitter and Times Square!

Now through Nov. 15, Twitter posts from Lopez and selected fans will be displayed on a high-definition billboard between 44th and 45th Streets on New York City’s famed Broadway strip. A scroll of selected tweets run on the billboard around the clock and fans can register and tweet through http://georgetweets.com.

On The Tonight Show Thursday, host Conan O’Brien offered a personal apology to the father of Sarah Palin’s grandson for “misrepresenting him in any way” in a skit that aired the previous evening. Conan and his program came under fire yesterday after featuring television legend William Shatner in a spoof spoken word segment that featured Tweets taken from Levi Johnston’s Twitter account. There’s just one problem — Levi doesn’t have a Twitter.

The move came after reps for Levi Johnston threatened legal action against The Tonight Show and the social media mecca, claiming the 19-year-old was being impersonated on the site. At the top of the show, Conan said he’d woken up to “shocking news.” “Apparently the tweets that we read were counterfeit,” he said. “They were written by a clever impostor posing as the witty Levi Johnston. And the real Levi is very angry with us now.”

He continued, “I’d like to personally apologize to Levi Johnston and his lawyer and publicist for misrepresenting him in any way.” Conan proceeded to welcome William Shatner back to recite “some real, verified quotes from Levi Johnston” as spoken-word poetry.

Levi Johnston is being impersonated on Twitter. The moose-shootin’ former penis slipper of Bristol Palin has theatened legal action against the popular microblogging social site and The Tonight Show after racially-insensitive Tweets posted to the account were read as spoken word poetry by William Shatner during Wednesday’s edition of The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien.

Dolly Parton is under the care of a chiropractor, thanks to her famous bustline. The country legend says her 40DD boobs have been causing her a lot of pain recently.

“Aahhh chiropractor… Hurts so good,” Dolly, 63, wrote on Twitter. “You lug these around and see if your back don’t hurt!”

Jon Gosslin’s former flame, Hailey Glassman, went on a Twitter Tirade on Tuesday, viciously thundering her hatred for the media, and specifically celebrity gossip blogger Perez Hilton in a series of foul-mouthed one-liners — in 140 characters or less.

“Look Perez, you make a living off telling lies and trying to associate yourself with anyone who is in the media for press. We should all just call you Michael Lohan. You’re the gay version of Michael Lohan,” the 22-year-old college dropout fumed in one Tweet.
