Ellen DeGeneres will not join Ryan Seacrest as co-host of this year’s Idol Gives Back charity event, after all. The popular talk show hostess has backed out of the gig due to an unforeseen production schedule with The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Idol Gives Back 2008 is scheduled to tape on Sunday, April 6th, and air next Wednesday April 9th.

Last week’s ousted Idol Chikezie Eze joins Ellen for a performance and interview in sunny Florida.
