After 15 years of keeping litigants in check on his syndicated series, Judge Joe Brown is being kicked out of the courtroom.
The sour-scowled jurist’s eponymously-named series will air its final episode at the end of its current season. CBS TV Distribution announced the cancellation Wednesday, following reports of a $20 million contract dispute between the company and Brown.
“Judge Joe Brown will not be returning for another season. We would like to thank Joe for 15 great years, as well as executive producer John Terenzio and the entire staff for all their hard work and dedication to the show.”
Joe’s departure from daytime will free up a half-hour on the stations that carry the court show, including many Fox stations.
