In the new season, the clan will offer an even closer look into their family life as they embark on a cross-country family road trip.

“This has given us the amazing opportunity to reach our fans who have become our friends in such an intimate and unique way. It’s an honor to bring our living room into theirs,” Tori says.

The 36-year-old actress went to the hospital Monday evening after experiencing pain. She returned to the medical facility this afternoon when her condition didn’t improve overnight.

“They released her last night,” the rep said in a statement. “She wasn’t feeling better today so she returned to the hospital for more tests.”

Tori had been scheduled to host the Lambda Legal Awards this evening, but had to cancel last minute because of her illness.

Candy’s well-documented feud with her daughter, actress Tori Spelling, 35, has become too much for her pals on the Hollywood scene, The Globe’s Loosch Lips Column reports. The tabloid claims Candy was recently dropped from a number of Hollywood guest lists by wealthy bigwigs who are put off over the widow’s bitter treatment of Tori.

These days, Candy’s lucky if she can convince someone to do lunch with her, blabs a tipster, who spotted Candy dining alone at the Orso Restaurant in Los Angeles last week.

“Hardly anyone said hello, even though the room was filled with folks she knew. She’s not so well-liked anymore, and I think it’s due to all the nasty stuff she’s been saying about Tori and her family,” the source tattles. “You’d think by now she’d learn to keep her mouth shut.”

Never one to mince words, the socialite has attracted headlines in recent months with an ongoing war of words with Tori. Candy has no relationship with Tori’s two children, but famously blasted the reality star for allowing the toddlers to appear on the Oxygen reality series Tori & Dean in an open letter to a celebrity gossip website. Last spring, the sixty-something appeared on a morning radio program, where she blamed her daughter for the death of her husband, legendary television producer Aaron Spelling, in 2006.

On Sunday, the former trophy wife sent in a wordy rant to TMZ.com, taking a swipe at Tori’s recent dramatization of their troubled relationship on her Oxygen reality show Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood.

The mother and daughter have been engaged in a bitter war of words ever since TV mogul Aaron Spelling passed away in 2006. Candy recently went public with the fact she has yet to meet her 13-month-old granddaughter, Stella.

The relationship became even more tense after she blamed her daughter for her husband’s death, insisting that the estrangement from Tori “killed my husband. He just didn’t want to live after that.”

Candy is furious that she was invited to meet her granddaughter for the first time as part of the show’s plotline.

In an open letter, dated July 26, Candy fumes:

“A big party wasn’t how I envisioned meeting my granddaughter for the first time; but, hey, this is Hollywood, and my grandchildren have become reality show props, too. At the time I emailed ‘yes,’ I didn’t realize I was being set up for a two-parter (episode), even though it was clear I was being invited to be part of a segment for my daughter’s reality show.”

Tori Spelling will join the colorful Kathie Lee Gifford on the fourth hour of The TODAY Show next week. The Oxygen reality star and best-selling author will guest co-host Monday July 20 through Wednesday, July 22, in place of the vacationing Hoda Kotb.

Candy Spelling showed us how not to reconcile with an estranged family member during an interview on Massachusetts radio station this morning. The former trophy bride made shocking statements against her 35-year-old daughter, Tori, during a chat with 94.7 WMAS’ Kellogg Crew on Thursday.

Candy alleges that Tori’s estrangement from her family “killed” her late father, television mogul Aaron Spelling.

Candy says one day her daughter stopped speaking to the family and she doesn’t know “where the anger came from.”

“It was sad,” Candy said. “That’s what killed my husband [Aaron]. He just didn’t want to live after that.”

“I’ve always been trying to work on the relationship,” she added.

The ex-wife of actor Dean McDemott confronted the star’s mistress-turned-wife Tori Spelling after learning that the pair were having an affair, pleading with the actress not to destroy her marriage.

Tori — who was married to Charlie Shanian at the time –fell for the also married Dean while filming the Lifetime made-for-TV movie Mind Over Murder in 2005.

McDermott and Spelling split with their respective spouses in 2006 and wed just weeks later. Now the stars of Oxygen’s Tori & Dean have their own family – they are parents to two-year-old son Liam and 11-month-old daughter Stella.

Dean and his then-wife, actress Mary Jo Eustace, had just adopted a baby girl and the news that her husband was doing Spelling came as a shock to Mary Jo, who begged Tori to leave her husband alone.

In her new book Divorce Sucks, Mary Jo writes: “I told her I thought (her) behaviour thus far had been the height of insensitivity and rudeness. I tried to explain that we were a real family, with a new baby and a substantial history, and there were serious consequences to all of this…”

She continues: “The toughest moment was when my husband kept calling her to see how the meeting was going. She told him it was ‘going great’ and joked that we were quickly becoming ’soul mates.’ I left the room on that one.”

In an interview with the June/July issue of Cookie Magazine, Tori Spelling says that the tough dynamics surrounding her rocky relationship with her mother Candy concerned her when it came to raising her own daughter, Stella.

“My biggest fear in life was having a girl,” says Tori, 35, who appears on the Cookie cover with Stella and her 2-year-old son, Liam. “How was I going to handle a girl?”

“It turns out that Stella is a total mama’s girl,” she says of her 11-month-old tot. “For all my fears, without my even trying, Stella wants her mama. When she is in [husband] Dean’s arms, she lunges for me the way Liam did for him.”

CM | It seems like you’ve made a very nontraditional extended family for yourself.
TS | People assume celebrities have other celebrity friends, but I don’t really. I made some amazing friends when I was 15, and they are truly my family now. Maybe I didn’t get dealt the cards for a close family, but those old friends—Mehran and Jenny and the “gay uncles,” or “guncles,” Scout and Bill—have proven to me that they are my family.

CM l You were also very close to your nanny until her death when you were in your early 30s. Did that make hiring a nanny for your own kids less fraught?
TS | I never understood being competitive with a nanny. If you have someone you trust and who loves your kids, then what an amazing thing you’ve done for them. My kids have Patsy, who is a baby nurse to them and like a mother figure to me. Stella was an unplanned pregnancy, and I think it happened so I could keep Patsy longer. I am very sad Nanny and my dad never got to meet my kids. I have this little bear that was Nanny’s, and I always bring it when I fly. I recently showed it to Liam and explained that the bear is like a grandparent who looks out for us. He grabbed it and kissed it.

CM | Considering the Spelling family business, do you let your kids watch TV?
TS | TV is basically my life, so to be the mom who says, “My kids will never watch,” would be totally hypocritical. We try to strike a balance; it’s a work in progress.
