Texas-native, Paul Qui, can add another title to his resume, Top Chef!
In the season finale of Top Chef: Texas last night, Paul Qui edged out Sarah Grueneberg to claim the coveted title. Both contestants were able to select their sous-chefs from chefs who had already been cut during the season. It came down to a good old-fashioned battle of the sexes, with Paul coming out on top.
Paul put his heart and soul on the line, “Paul excelled at the details just a little better,” head judge Tom Colichio said. Paul nailed every course, casuing the judges to pick his plate in 3 out of the 4 rounds.
And you thought Kate Gosselin was the only one with “Baby Daddy Drama!” Adam Dell (photographed left) and leggy Top Chef hostess Padma Lakshmi are taking the tug-of-war over their 11-month-old daughter, Krishna, to court.
Be still, JoBro Fangirls (and boys): Pop heartthrob Joe Jonas swings by Bravo’s Top Chef All-Stars tonight to guest judge the Quickfire Challenge, which will see the chef’testants working to create a snack for a children’s slumber party at the American Museum of Natural History.
If the singing thing doesn’t pan out, Joe may have a promising future ahead as pastry chef ahead of him!
Joe Jonas makes his Top Chef debut tonight, Wednesday, Dec. 8 @ 10PM, on Bravo.
TV Guide has come out swinging in response to allegations that publishers ordered more than a little airbrushing to Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi, who appears on this week’s cover of the mag.
Guide editors are steaming after PopEater.com published an editorial accusing the publication of digitally-lightening Lakshmi’s rich olive skin tone — similar to a move L’Oreal pulled in 2007, setting off shockwaves when the cosmetics brand was outed lightening an ad featuring “Sasha Fierce” singer Beyonce. The firestorm is also reminiscent of a denial issued by Elle Magazine in September, when the fashion magazine refuted claims that it had lightened the skin of Precious actress Gabourey Sidibe, a dark-skinned African-American, on the cover of Elle’s 25th Anniversary issue.
