Has John Mayer given Taylor Swift a taste of her own medicine?
The crooner has set off a buzz with his new single, “Paper Doll,” which sounds like a thinly-veiled dig at his former girlfriend. Vevo premiered a lyric video for the tune on Tuesday and a host of music aficionados believe it’s the perfect response to Swift’s 2010 hit “Dear John” — which famously blasted the notorious womanizer.
The video debut of Miley Cyrus and Snoop Lion’s collaboration, “Ashtrays & Heartbreaks,” hit Vevo Thursday. Is it just a coincidence that Miley, 20, is close to launching her new album? She’ll debut her single “We Can’t Stop” on Monday.
Britney Spears has recorded a song for the upcoming Smurfs sequel.
The “Toxic” songstress recorded the single, titled “Ooh La La,” for the summer blockbuster Smurfs 2, Columbia Pictures/Sony Pictures Animation announced Wednesday. Britney originally recorded the tune for her sons, Sean, seven, and Jayden, six, but is ecstatic that it will now be part of the Smurfs 2 soundtrack.
Spears announced the news on both Facebook and Twitter:
“Remember that surprise song I recorded for my boys? It’s coming soon! #OohLaLa for #TheSmurfs2 :)…I have always loved the Smurfs as a kid and now my boys are the biggest Smurfs fans EVER. I wanted to surprise them with a song in the movie. I know they’ll think it’s Smurftastic.”
The song will play during the end credits of the live-action and animated film, which is set to hit theaters July 31.
