Tina Fey and Steve Carell are already eyeing a second joint venture, Mail-Order Groom, on the heels of the success of their new comedy Date Night.
Warner Bros. is developing the silver screen side-splitter — co-written by Fey’s real-life husband, 30 Rock co-executive producer Jeff Richmond — about a lonely American woman who orders an Eastern European soldier as her new mate.
The stars of NBC’s The Office and 30 Rock, respectively, play a New York couple who try to spruce up their mundance life in suburbia with a night out on the town. Things take an unexpected turn for the worse — with hilarious results — when a white lies leads to a case of mistaken identity.
The latest issue of Entertainment Weekly features comedy stars Tina Fey (30 Rock) and Steve Carell (The Office) as they chat up their new comedy, Date Night.
Featuring a cast that includes Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis, Date Night follows an overworked NYC couple, whose romantic evening gets turned upside down after a crazy case of mistaken identity.
Here’s a 3-minute clip from Date Night with Steve Carell and Tina Fey. Looks hilarious!
In the comedy, Carell and Fey play a married couple whose routine date night becomes much more than just dinner and movie after a disastrous series of events. Date Night features an ensemble cast of Hollywood headliners, including Mark Wahlberg, James Franco, Leighton Meester, Common, Taraji Henson, Kristen Wiig, Ray Liotta, Mila Kunis, Mark Ruffalo, William Fichtner, and Olivia Munn.
Betty White fans, rejoice! We hearSaturday Night Live is putting together a “Women of Comedy” episode that would team one of TV’s surviving “Golden Girls” with several of her younger comedy contemporaries.
The proposed SNL “Women of Comedy” special would feature 88-year-old Betty cracking side-splitters alongside funny gals Tina Fey, Molly Shannon, and Amy Poehler. The move comes after an online campaign to get White on board for her SNL hosting debut gained momentum on Facebook last month.
If true, not only would this be like the best news ever, but it would earn our little Betty a place in the history books as the oldest host in the history of Saturday Night Live.
