An unidentified insider tells Britain’s The Sun newspaper that the the sharp-tongued music mogul is in discussions with producer Robert Stigwood, who owns the rights to the screenplay, to update the film.

“Simon has been looking into buying the rights for years and opened discussions with Robert about the remake,” blabs a source. “The charm offensive has been in full swing and they made a breakthrough over the last couple of weeks. Award-winning hip-hop producer Timbaland is being courted to rework Saturday Night Fever’s original soundtrack– which featured a host of classic disco classics by The Bee Gees, including “Stayin’ Alive,” “More Than A Woman,” and “Night Fever.”

The album topped the U.S. charts for 24 weeks after it release.

Justin Timberlake and Timbaland are portraying “he-hoes” in the video that has been shot in a top-secret West London location over the past three days.

In the sexually charged video, Madge cracks the whip and gets her slaves, Justin and Timbaland, to do whatever she wants as she towers over their quivering bodies in killer heels.

A source tells the British press:

“One of the highlights in the video is the nightclub scene. Timbaland eyes Madge up in the darkened room, and they disappear off to get close. The camera cuts to Madonna challenging JT to a dance-off and it is just magnificent. They get up close and personal in the battle of the gyrating hips, with sweat dripping all over their bodies.”

Italian fashion mavens Dolce & Gabbana are credited with designing the vid’s S&M wear.
