The stars of Bravo’s Real Housewives of New York City and Franklin Lakes, New Jersey are set to spar in a showdown at an arts center in Englewood, N.J. on Oct. 17 — and the socialites are already getting a head start on trash talking.

Ironically, in a city with one of the largest populations of African-Americans in America, not a single one of these women is Black — or even East Indian, Ethiopian, which are also represented in strong numbers in Washington.

Washington is the fifth city to join Bravo’s Real Housewives franchise.

Bravo Media has teamed up with Royal Plush to develop an apparel line inspired by the fashion and style of The Real Housewives franchise, The Los Angeles Times has learned. The Real Housewives-Royal Plush Collection will include lounge wear, active wear and handbags and is set to debut at specialty boutiques and department stores across the country this fall.

“Royal Plush’s contemporary designs reflect the bold, stylish and fun personalities of our ‘Real Housewives,’” Bravo Executive Vice President and General Manager Frances Berwick said Thursday.

Teresa and hubby Joe are the parents of daughter Audriana Giudice, born on Sept. 14 at 5:56 p.m. The healthy baby girl weighed 7 pounds, 14 ounces and measured 20-½ inches long.

“Teresa and her husband Joe are doing great,” a rep from Bravo, which airs the Real Housewives franchise, tells PEOPLE.

The couple have three other daughters: Gia, 8, Gabriella, 4, and Milania, 3.

It’s the second baby from a housewife since the first season ended. Castmate Jacqueline Laurita and husband Chris welcomed a son, Nicholas, in June.

Reality starring sisters Dina and Caroline Manzo have slammed Gov. Eliot Spitzer’s former prossie’s claim that Jersey housewives are strung out on meds and no better than prostitutes in a lengthy rant on Russell Simmons’ Global Grind Blog on Wednesday.

“It’s just unfortunate that she’s using this to get her name and face out like that,” Manzo tells The New York Post. “She’s entitled to her voice, like we all are, but nobody should have to listen to her.”

While Dupre was not talking specifically about the stars of Bravo’s reality hit, The Manzos From The Mean Streets of Franklin Lakes took her remarks as a mass insult all married Jersey women.

Dina “feels bad” for Dupre, but warns her, saying, “She needs to change her way of thinking, otherwise she’s gonna be one of those miserable women.”

The woman whose past as a gun-toting, coke-snorting former “prostitution whore” became the talk of Season One of Bravo’s Real Housewives Of New Jersey isn’t even registered to vote. Nevertheless, Thomas Ammirato, a Republican strategist who is now Danielle’s rep, claims the right-wing Jersey Girl has not ruled out running against U.S. Rep Bill Pascrell, a Democrat from Paterson, NJ, to represent the Garden State in Congress next year.

Just what the government needs — another criminal!

“At this point Ms. Staub is fielding numerous offers and has ruled out nothing,” her rep told NJ.com last week. “Her advisors will be discussing her future shortly.”

While the former model serious about the prospects of a possible political run, Thomas isn’t as sure as Danielle seems to be.

“I don’t see that happening,” he said of the reality star’s Congressional hopes. “It would be the longest of political longshots … unless there’s a huge groundswell.”

Last Wednesday, June 24, a judge in Passaic County, NJ ordered an injunction banning the release of any sexually explicit video or pictures of Staub and her 27-year-old ex-boyfriend, Stephen Zalewski. Danielle, 46, claims Steve taped and photographed several of the former couple’s sexual encounters without her consent and has threatening to sale the footage to the highest bidder.

With that in mind, we’re gonna go out on a limb here and say that it is highly unlikely that Danielle will ever set foot in Congress — not unless she’s giving testimony about her past as a federal cooperator or something.
