The set of Desperate Housewives is on swine flu alert this Wednesday, after series star star Teri Hatcher informed the show that she was recently diagnosed with the potentially fatal H1N1 virus.

Teri’s diagnosis comes at crunchtime for the top-rated ABC drama, which had been shooting scenes for the commuter plane that is expected to kill of several characters. Scenes with the entire cast have had to be rescheduled while Teri recuperates.

Teri Hatcher and Eva Longoria locked lips on Sunday night’s episode, after Hatcher’s character Susan Mayer talks about a kiss she shared with a lesbian school teacher earlier in the show.

Gabrielle (Longoria) kisses Susan (Hatcher) twice to see if it was a “lesbian kiss” or a “friends kiss.”

The editor of Glamour Magazine UK has jumped to Teri Hatcher’s defense after statements the Desperate Housewives actress made in a guest column for the publication were taken out of context.

Teri’s parenting skills were called into question late last week after a leaked version of her Glamour column led to headlines about poor eating habits and sex advice she has been giving her young daughter, Emerson.

“Quotes taken from Teri Hatcher’s October British Glamour article have been grossly misreported and taken out of context by the worldwide media,” Glamour editor Jo Elvin writes in Teri’s defense.

“We are disappointed that the true meaning of the column, written by Teri, which is always heartfelt and thought-provoking, has been twisted in this way in order to manufacture a headline. False media claims report Teri telling her daughter to have great sex (and) eat the chocolate, but… this misstates Teri’s words.”

“In fact, in her column, she said that this is ‘not what I wanted my daughter to know at all.’ “Teri Hatcher is a wonderful mother and the article truly represents great messages about living life as a woman and a mother with grace, humour and wisdom. We will be posting the article on www.glamourmagazine.co.uk so that it can be read in it’s entirety and true context.”

Desperate Housewives star Teri Hatcher has exiled herself from the cast of the hit ABC soap. Teri has become so disenfranchised with her co-stars that the actress refused to attend the forty-sixth birthday bash for Desperate creator Marc Cherry on March 23rd and has commenced to giving the show’s entire crew the silent treatment.

“Teri feels like an outcast on the show…”

The National Enquirer reports: Marc wrote humorous invitations, comparing his March 23rd birthday to momentous events in the lives of the other Housewives…but Teri failed to get a mention on the invite…..

Teri’s made shooting on D.H Holy Hell ever since, says an Enquirer snitch:

“Teri doesn’t utter a word to anyone-unless the cameras are rolling. She goes to the set, goes straight to her trailer and only comes out when it’s time to shoot her scenes.”

Desperate Housewives star Teri Hatcher performed American Idol 4 champ Carrie Underwood’s hit single “Before He Cheats” for Idol Gives Back 2008.

Teri Hatcher will sing at American Idol’s Idol Gives Back Charity Benefit on Sunday (airing on Wednesday), the New York Daily News reports. The Desperate Housewife will back up The Band From TV, which includes James Denton, Hugh Laurie, Greg Grunberg, and Bonnie Somerville.

Cosmetics company Hydroderm has filed a lawsuit against Teri Hatcher citing breach of contract. The corp claims the Desperate Housewives star has been using City Cosmetics product to plump her lips rather than Hydroderm serum she was paid $2.4 million to promote. Hydroderm is seeking $2.8 million in damages.

According to court documents:

“Hatcher’s name, image and likeness have been linked to so many competitors’ products (at least 17!) that it is anyone’s guess as to what product keeps her skin and lips youthful.”
