Tyler made a surprise appearance with guitarist Joe Perry in New York City Tuesday night, where he refuted whispers that he’s out at the group’s lead vocalist.

“I am not leaving Aerosmith,” Tyler thundered before launching into the band’s smash single “Walk This Way.”

Tyler’s appearance ends speculation about the band’s future. Last weekend, Perry told The Las Vegas Sun that Tyler, 61, had unceremoniously ditched the band after falling off a stage during an Aug. 5 performance in South Dakota.

The report comes just months after the singer spoke out publicly to dismiss reports the band was on the verge of splitting. In August, Tyler broke his shoulder after falling off stage while performing in South Dakota, and the group was forced to scrap the remainder of its summer tour.

Perry admits that following the accident he and Tyler didn’t speak for more than a month and Perry fears his pal has left the rock group after its performance as part of the Formula One racing season’s final weekend in Abu Dhabi on Oct. 30.

“Steven quit as far as I can tell. I don’t know any more than you do about it. I got off the plane two nights ago. I saw online that Steven said that he was going to leave the band. I don’t know for how long, indefinitely or whatever. Other than that, I don’t know,” he tells The Las Vegas Sun.

Perry claims the discord in the band can be attributed to Tyler’s failure to return phone calls: “Frankly, the last few months I’ve been wanting not to rock the boat. I don’t want him cancelling any more gigs. We really wanted to do these last four. We just kind of didn’t want to call him out or anything and get him anymore pissed off, for whatever reason. So we just let things lie. So we did the gigs and, like I said, I got off the plane and saw this online. That’s how I know about it… He has had no contact with me or the other band members.”

Joe Perry says he’s determined to continue Aerosmith, even if its famous frontman refuses to return.

“Right now I’m adjusting to how we’re going to go on…We’re just trying to – at least I am – trying to figure out what direction the band should take….”

“I’m plain grateful that I didn’t break my neck,” Tyler said after the incident.

The “Dream On” rocker tumbled off stage while dancing at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in Sturgis, South Dakota. Tyler was checked out be festival physicans before being airlifted to nearby Rapid City Regional Hospital, suffering head, neck, and shoulder injuries.

He received stitches in his head and back and broke his shoulder in the stage blunder, Billie Perry, the wife of Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry, told fans on her Twitter page Thursday.

“He hit his head and back. No concussion, stitches in head and back near shoulder. Broken shoulder. Yes he is very sore. We were all worried,” she wrote.

On Thursday, the band announced that their Friday night show in Winnipeg, Canada has been postponed.

The Aerosmith frontman fell off the stage in Sturgis, South Dakota while his band was performing “Love in an Elevator,” The Rapid City Journal reports.

He suffered minor head and neck injuries as well as a shoulder injury.

Mike Sanborn, spokesman for the Buffalo Chip Campground tells The Associated Press, that the 61-year-old rocker fell backwards onto a couple fans while he was dancing.

“He was good natured about it,” Sanborn says. “He was in good spirits when he got in the helicopter. He was talking and joking with the physician.”

“He does a lot of dancing on the stage and he does a lot of stuff with his mike stand. He put his stand down and twirled around and stepped backwards off the stage.”

“It was an unfortunate end to an extraordinary evening,” he adds.

Tyler was taken backstage to be evaluated by medical personnel before being airlifted to Rapid City Regional Hospital, where he is still being treated.

Steven says the bloggers have made a living writing about the death of his mother and other “intimate details” from his personal life.

According a lawsuit filed by the 60-year-old rocker on Wednesday, the bloggers are accused of public disclosure of private facts, making false statements and misappropriation of likeness.

Aerosmith Steven Tyler has confirmed he checked into rehab at San Diego’s Las Encinas Hospital earlier this month, but contrary to recent reports the “Dream On” rocker says he sought post-op physical therapy after a succession of painful surgeries on his feet.

“The doctors told me the pain in my feet could be corrected, but it would require a few surgeries over time,” the sixty year old musician said in a statement released Thursday.

“The ‘foot repair’ pain was intense, greater than I’d anticipated. The months of rehabilitative care and the painful strain of physical therapy were traumatic. I really needed a safe environment to recuperate where I could shut off my phone and get back on my feet. Make no mistake, Aerosmith has no plans to stop rocking. There’s a new album to record, then another tour.”

Steven Tyler has entered rehab. According to TMZ.com, the sixty year old Aerosmith frontman has checked himself into Dr. Drew Pinsky’s Las Encinas Hospital, a rehab facility in Pasadena, California, for substance abuse treatment. Based on some of the items in his wardrobe it should be pretty obvious that he’s high!

It’s the same facility where Dr. Drew’s hit VH1 reality show Celebrity Rehab will tape it’s forthcoming sophomore season.

Aerosmith’s front man has always been a strange looking fellow. His features are bizarre, his clothes insane and he is addicted to scarves. What just occured to me is that Liv’s daddy is actually one of the very first emo boys. His hair is always in his face. He indulges in occasioanl eye make up. He wears tight-fitting feminine clothes and shows his midriff. Heck, in this picture he looks just like my 14 year-old sister’s best friend!
