The legal eagle and former The View co-host blasted Polanski — who is currently being held in a Swiss prison, fighting extradition to the U.S. on a 1977 sex abuse charge — during a round table discussion on The Insider Monday. But even among Polanski adversaries, Star is prompting debate over her reference to race and strong choice of words.

“I have no sympathy for him,” Star tells The Insider. “He’s in jail. Three hots and a cot, that’s what you’re supposed to get. Something tells me Spike Lee would not have been allowed to chill in France for the last three decades had he admitted to having sex with a 13-year-old.”

She goes on to say, “Roman Polanski is very much loved by the Hollywood industry and they are out there putting petitions together… Because he [Polanksi] is white and he is rich, he was privileged.”

“They get along quite well and have a wicked sense of humor when they’re together. Everyone keeps telling them they need to capture it on camera and now they’ve decided to,” a TV tattle allegedly told the tab.

However, reps for the frenemies — who formerly appeared as commentators on ABC’s The View — say they have no plans to get back in front of the cameras together.

“Ridiculous,” Rosie’s rep told Access Hollywood. “[There’s] no truth to it.”

Star’s publicist also denied the report.

Rosie, who will be hosting her own radio program on Sirius XM later this year, currently appears as a recurring guest star on the Lifetime comedy Drop Dead Diva.

The comedienne will host a luncheon with Star Jones, the former attorney she replaced on The View in 2006. Earlier that year, Rosie famously poked fun at Star after the now-ousted View co-host told fans she lost excessive weight through exercise and diet alone; in reality, Star shed more than 200 pounds with the help of gastric bypass surgery.

The lunch date will benefit the Figure Skating in Harlem Skating with the Stars Gala, according to UsMagazine.com. The winning bidder at the auction and a guest will be able to ask Jones and O’Donnell any questions they want during the lunch date.

The ladies of The View sounded off on comments made by their former co-host Star Jones in an interview with Oprah Winfrey on Wednesday. The ousted television pundit admitted that she asked her former co-hosts to lie about her then-secret gastric bypass surgery.

On yesterday’sOprah, Star was asked to react to a previous clip of Barbara Walters. In the clip, Star’s former boss could be heard saying her secret surgery caused The View audience to feel “uncomfortable” and unable to “relate” to Star anymore.

“I’m so sorry that I placed a burden on my colleagues. I never asked them to lie,” Star said.

“I’m going to take a bypass. … Good luck to her,” Joy Behar said on Thursday’s show. “We had to cover for her. We had to say [her weight loss] was from diet and exercise which it wasn’t.”

“We really do wish her well,” Barbara replied simply.

In an interview airing on The Oprah Winfrey Show Wednesday, April 1, television personality Star Jones opens about how her secret gastric-bypass surgery and the wedge it drove between her and the rest ladies of The View.

Star’s interview will air along with testimonials from Valerie Bertinelli and Marie Osmond about their own weight loss.

“I’m so sorry that I placed a burden on my colleagues. I never asked them to lie,” Star tells the Queen of Talk.

Star lost 160 pounds and chose to keep after having the controversial surgery. The former attorney calls her weight loss the “the hardest struggle” of her life, but cautions that she had “no choice” but to have the surgery.

“When you hear people say ‘You took the easy way out,’ I would have longed for an easy way. It was not an easy way…..”

Barbara Walters sent out a special F-U to ousted co-hosts Rosie O’Donnell and Star Jones on The View this morning after O’Donnell publicly slammed the show–for the thousandth time–in an interview with the Los Angeles Times on Wednesday.

Star Jones has a new boyfriend and it looks like this one is straight! The outspoken and out-of-work television personality was spotted slobbing down new love Herb Wilson at the U.S Open in Queens, New York on Tuesday.

Herb is the executive chef at the Tribeca Grand in New York City.

Star Jones is ending her three-and-a-half year marriage to attorney/reputed “down low brother” Al Reynolds. The former star of ABC’s The View filed for divore in New York Supreme Court in Manhattan on March 26th.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Star says:

“Several years ago I made an error in judgment by inviting the media into the most intimate area of my life. A month ago I filed for divorce. The dissolution of a marriage is a difficult time in anyone’s life that requires privacy with one’s thoughts. I have committed myself to handling this situation with dignity and grace and look forward to emerging from this period as a stronger and wiser woman.”

Former View co-host Star Jones Reynolds and her self-titled chatfest, The Star Jones Show, have been canned by truTV (formerly known as Court TV).

The network announced the split in a statement released on Thursday: “Due to the rebranding and programming refocus of the network, truTV and Star Jones Reynolds have mutually agreed to cease production of the Star Jones Show.”

The final episode of the Star Jones Show will air Feb. 1, and will be replaced by Arrest & Trial, airing weekdays at 3 p.m. ET.
