On Tuesday night, vocal powerhouse Christina Aguilera performed our National Anthem (Which happens to be “The Star-Spangled Banner,” in case you forgot.) to kick off Game Six of the 2010 NBA Finals between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
A couple of pitchy parts, but overall another outstanding performance from the five time Grammy winner.
Christina Aguilera, a voice that is truly a national treasure.
Tiger Woods will allegedly admit to having a secret lovechild with a Florida woman in her forties. Theresa Rogers allegedly gave birth to the golfer’s daughter in 2003 and months later accepted a $3 million settlement from The Woods Camp to keep the child’s paternity a secret.
Olympic gold medal-winnng gymnast Shawn Johnson testified Thursday that she was so frightened of the “Looney Bird Johnson” on trial for savagely stalking her that she considered quitting Dancing With The Stars — which she would ultimately win as the youngest contestant in the contest’s history in 2009.
Sports fans really know how to hit a guy where it hurts. When Jessica Simpson was accused of ruining Tony Romo’s winning record, Dallas Cowboys haters nationwide began using pictures of the bombshell to further throw off Tony’s game. Baseball aficionados did the same thing when New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez was accused of carrying on “an affair of the heart” with pop star Madonna.
It was only a matter of time before the trend hit the basketball court.
Hecklers held up cardboard cutouts of Khloe Kardashian’s face during Game Three of the 2010 NBA Finals between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics on Tuesday night. Tauntr.com handed out 5,000 Khloe masks outside the TD Garden in Beantown just ahead of Game 3 — all in hopes of rattling the reality star’s husband, Lakers player Lamar Odom.
The masks didn’t work: The Lakers beat the Celtics 91-84. The real Khloe wasn’t on-hand to witness the debauchery — she’s in NYC promoting the second season of E!’s Kourtney & Khloe Take Miami.
American Idol 9 winner Lee DeWyze will perform our National Anthem, “The Star-Spangled Banner,” as the Los Angeles Lakers take on the Boston Celtics in Game 2 of the NBA Finals at The Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday night. The Lakers have a 1-0 lead on the Boston Celtics in the best-of-seven series.
DeWyze won the Idol crown in a stunning upset over fan fave Crystal Bowersox last week. The former paint salesman is the latest in a long line of Idol winners who have performed at the NBA Finals. His cover of U2’s “Beautiful Day” arrived at No. 24 on the Billboard Hot 100 on Wednesday.
