Lauren Froderman “So You Think You Can Dance” Winner


“I have been working my whole life for something like this…”

Bubbly Fleet-Footer Lauren Froderman, 18, danced her way to victory on Thursday night’s seventh season finale of the FOX hit reality dance competition So You Think You Can Dance.

Viewer votes awarded the 18-year-old recent high school graduate from Phoenix, Arizona the title of “America’s Favorite Dancer” and a $250,000 grand prize during the dancing contest’s live finale.

The contemporary jazz dancer tackled various styles — including hip-hop, ballroom, and Bollywood routines — before her SYTYCD crowning.

Froderman bested 18-year-old runner-up Kent Boyd of Wapakoneta, Ohio, and 19-year-old third-place finisher Robert Roldan of Thousand Oaks, California to snag the sought-after title.

Ellen “So You Think You Can Dance” Finale Performance

Fans of So You Think You Can Dance will be treated to a “very special performance” by Emmy-winning talk show host/comedienne Ellen DeGeneres on tonight’s season finale. Ellen and her happy feet will hit the stage for a dance with Season 3 SYTYCD champ Stephen “tWitch” Boss on Thursday’s two-hour season ender, airing @ 8 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed on FOX.

“SYTYCD” Choreographer Alex Da Silva Pleads Not Guilty To Rape Charges

Alex Da Silva — a former choreographer on the hit TV dance competition So You Think You Can Dance — pleaded not guilty to rape charges in a Los Angeles courtroom on Wednesday, TMZ.com reports.

Da Silva has been slapped with four counts of forcible rape, two counts of assault with intent to commit rape, and two counts of sexual penetration by a foreign object for allegedly assaulting at least eight female dancers he trained between 2002 and 2009.

He’s due back in court June 11.
