A new must follow for every dedicated Tweeter: Simon Cowell! The X Factor USA judge has amassed almost 200,000 followers since joining the microblogging website on Wednesday. Welcome him @SimonCowell to get the inside track on blurbs from one of TV’s most notorious meanies. The outspoken music mogul began Tweeting shortly before Wednesday evening’s rock-themed episode of Factor, dedicating most of his first six posts to his acts. In one Tweet, Cowell poked fun at his fellow X Factor USA judges, Nicole Scherzinger, Paula Abdul and LA Reid, by claiming he was winning in the “popularity poll.”
“I love being on twitter. Thank you for allowing me to beat the other 3 in the popularity poll. Paula looked like she’d sucked on a lemon!”
Simon Cowell’s back. But has he changed his acerbic stripes?
The “American Idol” alum’s much-hyped new show, “The X Factor,” bows in September. And in an extended preview released today, audiences are initially treated to a softer, gentler Simon. One who applauds the “spirit” of a tone-deaf young girl and isn’t repulsed by grandstanding and makes nauseating nice-nice with fellow judge and frequent combatant Paula Abdul.
It’s not everyday that Mr. Mean offers a mea culpa. Simon Cowell says he’s sorry that his old friend Cheryl Cole got caught up in a talent show snafu that left her without a job on either the US or UK edition of The X Factor.
